Firstly, I’d like to congratulate you on the absolute success in all ventures The Owen Hart Foundation has undertaken. It’s a joy to know that such a dark negative was able to be turned into such a bright positive. The Owen Hart Foundation gives so many people hope and a fighting chance at life, not only within Calgary and the surrounding communities, but around the world. I applaud you for your diligent work and continuous efforts to make a difference in people’s lives, in Owen’s honor. The Owen Hart Foundation is something that you, your children and those closest to you involved can be very, very proud of. Secondly, I’d like to congratulate you on your choice to continue and complete your education, to the ultimate level, in the fields of Social and Developmental Physiology. Today, many find it hard to reach for the stars. For a women in your situation to not only take on that challenge, but reach your goals, should be recognized as a statement to your character, drive and dedication to what most deem so important in life. This dedication to education is reflected in The Owen Hart Foundation, as the scholarships offered to qualifying prospective college students serve as such promising starting points for so many students today and undoubtedly in the future. Much like you, I value higher education. In life, knowledge is the only thing that cannot be taken away from you. With all that said, the reason I’ve decided to write you now, April twenty-third, two-thousand and fifteen, is my overwhelming admiration for who the man your husband was and what Broken Harts: The Life and Death of Owen Hart has meant to me and my life thus far.
